Now that the boat is safe in Hampton Public Pier Marina ... we can become land lubbers again and set off exploring .. well sort of ...we rented a car and started north towards Annapolis for the Annapolis Strictly Sail Boat Show.
... so here we are tourists that are hungry ...
.. these Pancake Houses are everywhere ... and they serve a mean stack ... of pancakes!
... you'd think all we do is eat ... though loosing weight ...
... must be the liquid diet ...
... and all the walking ... wit a stop for Breakfast.
... more walking ...
and then looking at boats ... ahh .. that is relaxing ... justo don't ask the price!
.. met some Canadians selling their wares ... Electromaax Alternators, pulley kits and Water makers ..
.. their 160 amp alternator on a Yanmar engine ...
.. more Canadian companies ... this is the Gozzard 42 ... nicely made boat ...
.. the view of the Annapolis mouring field ... apparently the moorings were full one week ahead of the show. That is why we decided to leave Saber Tooth south in Norfolk/Hampton.
This is a Oyster 62 .... for those with really deep pockets ...
.. oh to dream ... how about another Sabre ...
.. like the Sabre 456 ... another well built traditional sloop rigged boat ...
Then there is the Shannon 53 ... the only trouble is that it has a 64' mast ... too tall for the ICW (or at least I think so ... bridges on the Intercoastal Way are 65' high ... 1 foot clearance just might not be enough in those extra high tides).
... so we did a lot of walking and the weather was beautiful ... we plan on spending a few days here to make sure we see everything and there is a big Canadian contingent of boaters coming this year ...
