Thursday was a busy day.. lift up the radar post with crane, fix the cap install the new GPS antenna and put back the pole ... again ...
John discusses with Captain Bob, from s/v Greenstone (a Formosa Peterson 46) that there is only one more five minute job we would like to do ... then we should be ready for the next passage, 5 minute job "huh".. no such thing .. the radar post .. the favorite project ...
We are getting experts at taking this thing in and out ... when you have the right tool for the job it is so easy ... Dave, the Tiger Point Marina Mechanic was realy helpful with the jib crane off the travel lift .... thanks Dave!
The the real work started ... with the help of the local Stainless Guy we installed the mount for the spare GPS antenna ... so now the new Raystar 125 will become the primary GPS receiver and the older Raystar 115 will be conected to the MUX and network as a backup receiver as well as provide GPS data for the DSC on the VHF and SSB radios.
Jacky, the office manager at Tiger Point Marina, a very nice lady ... keeps the "guys" in the yard (and the owner Bill) where they need to be when they need to be there .. if you have a problem or question Jackie will get you the answer ...
We will leave soon this place .. too cold
John was busy sewing, cover for the jerry cans etc etc
Our home for 2 weeks.. professional, nice and friendly people.
